One more reason to love notebooks

The art of writing down your thoughts simply to clear your mind

Apart from the proven benefits of writing such as improving perceptiveness when processing information, improving memory and speed of thought, one cannot ignore the possibility of writing down what is on your mind to "empty" your mind. . Taking some time to write down your thoughts every day is considered by experts to be an investment in our mental well-being. Psychologist Diane Barth LCSW argues that by writing we can perceive things about ourselves and understand our feelings.

Further are those days when the workload, over-thinking and countless to-dos come to increase our stress level. On the other hand, there are also moments when our mind is filled with dysfunctional thoughts that are an obstacle to our development.

Feeling like I'm on the brink of burnout, I've found that writing and organizing my scattered thoughts significantly reduces my anxiety level and the fear that I'll forget something important. Taking a piece of paper or a notebook and writing down what's going on in my life—from work to education to my social obligations—helps me get a better picture of what's important to me and what isn't. I help myself put my multitude of thoughts in order making it easier for me to make a decision. In addition, using a notebook to record the positives and negatives of the choices I am asked to make I feel allows me to better manage the stress that can be associated with an unclear situation in my life.

Clarifying a difficult situation helps to shape my goals and future aspirations while helping to prioritize my actions. In my experience recording all these thoughts and actions is a way of tracking one's personal development, leaving behind negative thoughts and feelings and improving the way one manages demanding situations and daily challenges.

This whole process of writing every day gives me peace and definitely helps me deal with any mental fatigue I feel.

It feels so good when I "empty" all these thoughts from my mind and this is another reason why I love notebooks ! 🙂

I suggest you try writing too. Today, on the occasion of World Mental Health Day, choose the notebook that suits you and invest in your mental well-being!
