Washi tape, my love

Washi tape, my love

Let's start with the basics. What is Washi Tape?

Washi is traditional Japanese paper (和紙), which is made from the fibers of local shrubs and trees processed by hand in a traditional way. This paper is more durable than plain paper, and is used in many traditional arts such as Origami.

Based on this, you understand that Washi tape is essentially Japanese paper tape, but with a special quality. It is available in colorful and unique designs and is a good choice for crafts like scrapbooking and journaling.

Okay, but why should you love Washi Tape?

♻️It is made of highly renewable material and is biodegradable, therefore very friendly to the environment.

✂️No need for scissors, it can be easily torn by hand! Is there anyone out there who doesn't end up getting irritated trying to cut the tape with their… teeth?

💦🔥 It's waterproof and heat resistant, perfect for you spilling coffee on your journal (we're not judging, we're those people 😉). This also means you can peel it off and stick it back on easily!

That's nice, but where am I going to use it?

1. In gift packaging.

You can create a personal and unique wrap that will steal the show.

2. In Scrapbooks, Journals, Planners.

You can paste photos, create frames or use them as headings. You can also make borders around the page or create tabs at the edges.

3. On greeting cards
A custom card will help you express yourself, but it will also be greatly appreciated by your loved ones. With a simple piece of white cardboard, a marker or two and some Washi Tape you can do wonders.

4. To create labels
If you're looking for a really quick way to organize your cables, Washi Tape is the solution. Of course, you don't have to limit yourself to this use! You can make labels for anything, for example your spices, or the containers you store food in, the options are endless.

5. To decorate your home.
Whether you use it to frame art on your walls, or make a virtual headboard for your bed, I promise you won't regret it. I have personally upscaled a simple monochrome chest of drawers and the result was impressive for the minimal time and low cost I spent.
